My role: Product Design, Design System, Email Design
Team: 4 product managers, 1 UX researcher, 1 product designer (me), 1 content strategist, 3 engineers, 2 QAs
Timeline: 2019-2020
Cashi is a payment and digital wallet app (Android and iOS) launched by Walmart for the Mexico market, which allows users to load money easily on their phone, make purchases at all stores of Walmart banners and online, pay for their utilities and services, and receive rewards.
As a Senior Product Designer on the team, I transformed user research findings to design decisions, created user flows and delivered high-fidelity designs for development. I was also responsible for maintaining and refreshing the design system to optimize the app user experience in the iteration, and I worked cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, researchers and content strategists on a daily basis.
Context
In Mexico, many Walmart customers don’t have bank accounts, so Cashi was launched that acts as a digital bank account. At all the stores of Walmart Mexico’s four banners—Walmart, Sam’s Club, Superama and Bodega Aurrera, customers exchange cash for an electronic deposit onto their mobile phone and then use Cashi to make purchases in the store, online, and pay their bills.
With the goal of bringing digital innovation to the Mexican market, Cashi provides digital access and services for all in Mexico.
